How is VAT worked out?

TruDues uses the VAT the document shows — it never guesses. If the document states a rate but no VAT figure (for example "Prices include VAT at 20%"), the VAT is worked out from that rate. If it shows neither, VAT is recorded as zero and the invoice page says "VAT not shown. Check the full invoice." If UK VAT is shown but the supplier's VAT number isn't, the VAT is still claimed and the invoice page says "Supplier's VAT number not shown on this document." — where we have the number from an earlier full invoice from that supplier, it's filled in for you.
